Using OCR to search for a specific word in a Verdical Document

  1. If you are familiar with how our OCR Engine works in Sanction, it’s been added into Verdical with a new touch of flair.  Now when you search a specific page for a key word or phrase, the viewpoint will now highlight the item in question.  You can also instantly update a Document’s OCR File, simply by dragging-and-dropping a new OCR Text file onto the image in the Reviewer Tab, with the OCR Screen visable.
  2. Like in Sanction, the hotkey command is CTRL-O when the item is selected in the List View.  Once the OCR process has been completed (keeping in mind that the same requisite of Microsoft Document Imaging has to be installed prior to being able to use the OCR functionality), you will notice that when you click on the OCR Icon from the Toolbar the OCR will display for you. When you perform the search for the word or phrase you are looking for, you will see that the OCR will display the item as a highlighted entry.
